Thanks, LEJ. ;-)

Regarding Winona...well, she's just a different type altogether from Lauren Bacall, I think. Not that she can't be vampy when she wants to...she can...but it's not the number one source of her appeal. The actress I've seen in modern times who came closest to recreating the Lauren Bacall persona and updating it into a more sexually explicit era in movies was Kathleen Turner in "Body Heat"...a marvelous examle of film noire! I thoroughly enjoy watching movies about such women, but I'm not much attracted to them in real life. I find them too aggressive. They're "bad" girls, in a sense. I'm much more attracted to quieter, more complex types like Winona, because she's rather subtle and mysterious at the same time, which makes me want to know more about her. (I'm going, of course, on her movie roles when I say that...)

Dealing with Lauren Bacall or Kathleen Turner in "Body Heat" is more like taking a dare from someone, and that's not the type of thing I tend to go for. It's fun to watch onscreen, but not my cup of tea.
