I don't know him personally but when I was first learning guitar I had his clawhammer book, which was terrific. I still play some of that stuff now.

I only saw him live once, at Leeds Folk Festival and he was incredibly funny, so funny that I remember leaning against the marquee tentpole helpless with laughter and wishing he would stop - it's one of the few times I have very nearly literally split my sides laughing!
