The latest update on pirate activities in the Gulf of Aden has to do with the pirate "mother ship" that was sunk by an Indian Naval Ship Tabar. It turns out that the ship that was sunk in flames was a Thai trawler that had been recently captured by Somali pirates; only one Thai fisherman survived the sinking, rescued four days later by another passing fishing boat. The Indian Navy should not be blamed for sinking the trawler, after being fired upon. But they might have made more of an attempt to search for survivors.
