I think there are several US greetings/responses that we could use very well over here in the UK. Is it in "Twins" that someone says to Danny DeVito, "How's it hanging?", and he replies, "Round my ankles."

Might try that with Adrian, my local newsagent shop owner, when I collect the paper this morning.
