Thread Name: Are there more words to Mairzy Doats?
Subject: RE: Are there more words to this song?
Mairzy Doats

I know a ditty nutty as a fruitcake,
Goofy as a goon and silly as a loon.
Some call it pretty, others call it crazy,
But they all sing this tune:

Mairsy Doats and dozey doats and little lambsey divey,
Kiddlie divey too, wooden shoe.
Mairsy Doats and dozey doats and little lambsey divey,
Kiddley divey too, wooden shoe.
Now if the words sound queer and funny to your ear,
A little bit jumbled and jivey,
Sing "Mares eat oats and does eat oats
And little lambs eat ivy,"
Oh, Mairsy Doats ... .

One other verse goes:

"Cowzey tweet and sowzey tweet and liddle bearzy tunney,
Beezely tunney too, wooden shoe? ..."

Now if the words sound queer and silly to your ear,
A little bit jumbled and funny,
Sing "Cows eat wheat and sows eat wheat and little bears eat honey ... "

Maybe someone else has some of the other verses.

Or one could easily make up more. : )

And how about changing the thread title to "Are there more verses to Mairzy Doats?"
That would surely help keep track of the topic.
