The last time Afghanistan was what could be considered defeated was during the time of Alexander The Great. They obviously don't give up easily. I have no answers for the problem. Build a wall around the country and let them settle it themselves? We've watched far too much of that in our recent history. We(and I'll take the liberty of lumping us all together)as westerners, who consider ourselves democratic and civilized owe it to the planet to do something. To quote "Big Al", "You can get much further with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone."
