Thread Name: Tech: Need new stock portfolio site/program
Subject: Tech: Need new stock portfolio site/program
I have used the Netscape stock portfolio program for a number of years to manage my IRA and my wife's IRA, and found it very helpful. And free!

However, AOL (which absorbed Netscape last February) seems to have closed down the Netscape program, without notice. Luckily, I have the data of stocks bought, what dates, at what prices, and so forth, but I need some successor to the portfolio upkeep and display capabilities I had at Netscape.

The site or program should
(For each stock position):
1. allow the stock's identity, number of shares, original acquisition price and acquisition date to be entered
2. import current price information when the portfolio display is opened or on operator demand
3. display the original purchase per share price (item 1 above) and current unrealized profit/loss
4. display the profit/loss as of the time of opening the display (or demand)
5. display the profit/loss on that position by percentage as of that time/date

(Totals for each sub-portfolio of up to ten stocks):
1. display the total purchase value of the portfolio
2. show the total current value of the portfolio when the display is opened or updated.
3. show the total gain or loss in money
3. show the current gain or loss in percentage

Ideally the site or program should allow for multiple small portfolios (one to ten stocks each, for example). In Netscape I used fourteen such sub-portfolios to track my system.

Other capabilities may be helpful, but in terms of replacing the capabilities I've lost with Netscape's closing, that is it. I don't need stock or market evaluation capabilities; I do that in a different way.

Now, does anyone have any suggestions of online facilities or downloadable programs, preferably free or low-cost?
