The ONLY "bulky" Christmas present I got for anyone this year is a 2x3" envelope with a VERY personal gift card inside. I tucked it out of sight, so it isn't clutter. :~) At last night's dinner confab, Hardi reported much the same result, even including office staff.

These gift cards are cool (I also know about the usual cautions). It is actually possible to make them quite, quite customized to the person, the occasion, and the direction you want to aim the recipients' thinking-- about what item you want them to finally go get for themselves that they've been putting off for... years. The gift is so much more than "I'll send you$25 and you send me $25." It CAN be, "I WILL remind you to be good to yourself, and I HAVE been paying attention."
