Subject: RE: CyberHymnal hacked, missing or deceased?
Thanks so much to all who posted information about the Cyber Hymnal site. I went to listen to some of the old favorite Christmas hymns that I have yet to hear this year, and was appalled to find it gone. I did a search, and found y'all's exchanges about it...and I do hope it will be able to be on line again soon. It got me through some difficult times a while back when my mother was very ill. (She was in critical condition, and when I came home to email progress reports to friends and family, I'd listen to some of the old hymns which gave me strength to endure.) It's ironic, just last Sunday, I highly recommended the site to our church organist. I'd meant to send the link to her, but hadn't done it yet. At any rate, in case any of you are suffering from Cyber Hymnal withdrawals, you might check out http://www.episcopalnet.org/CHymnal/ACH/index.html It has the 1940 Episcopal hymnal, which is used by the Anglican Church. I think the music is better on Cyber Hymnal, and I love reading the biographies of the composers, but the other site is good, too. May God bless you all this Christmas, and in the new year.
