Back when I started with computers we had a fairly unique input: you had to paint your input on the wall of the cave and it would concatenate the result and provide an error wall. This allowed you to fix the problems. The BIG problem, then as now, was access: all that running from Lascaux to Altamira was tiresome to say the least. Back in those days, "Home Computer" meant just that: your home WAS your computer. The OS itself consisted of men missing their "stones" (this was, after all, the Neolithic) and was called "Eunuchs."
