My mother used to sing this to me, in the 1960's.
wondered whether anyone knows its origins or whether there were anymore verses-


when at night the shadows fall,
over all, tree tops tall
faintly on the hill tops rising
you will hear the fairies call
creep on tip toe softly peeping
treading on toes the king most sleepng
there you'll see the fairies leaping
round and round the fairy tree!...
