Subject: RE: BS: January 2009 De-Clutter off & running
Spent several hours this afternoon in the music room again. Got a few more square feet of floor cleared. Put a few books into the box for the used book sale, and a few more are "undecided".

Came to the conclusion that I just have way too many books. If I read from now to the end of my life, I probably couldn't finish them all. Will I ever read "Nicholas Nickleby"? If I haven't read it by now, I probably never will. I buy/bought books that I thought I'd like to read, but then never allocated the time to them. Jane Austin, even though she's a great writer, is just not my style.

And even once I've read them, I'm reluctant to let them go. I confess: I hoard books. Not just reference books like cooking/gardening/songbooks, but I have Tolkien paperbacks from years ago that I'm still holding on to. Sort of like a trophy case, that I can look at the shelf and think I've read this.
