There is a lne from the song that says something like "you better get ready, 'cause they could be coming to your town." When I was about 7 or eight years old I thought Peter Tork was quite dreamy, and I used to sit on the curb, getting excited every time I heard a car coming because it could be the Monkees--after all, they said they might be coming to my town. When my own children heard that story, they thought it was hysterical. Now when they want to make fun of my optomistic (sp?) nature, they ask if I want to wait for the Monkees. Ah, the joys of parenthood.
