It was "fallacies" in my source, as in falsehoods.

Sometimes limericks don't rhyme the way you expect them to:

There once was a man from St. Bees
Who was stung in the arm by a wasp
When asked if it hurt
He replied, no it doesn't
But thank G-d that it wasn't a hornet!
