Hi, Mom! I have another question. When someone says something "takes the cake", what kind of cake does it take? Does it take a German chocolate cake? How about a devil's food cake? And why a cake? Why doesn't it ever take a pie or a banana split? Why doesn't it take a large rack of barbecued spare ribs with a side of coleslaw and a baked potato?
