Harry Hill and John Kirkpatrick - great television!

I didn't see the original, so that clip took me completely by surprise - I was nudging anyone in reach and saying "that's John Kirkpatrick - that actually is John Kirkpatrick!" Repeat, at higher volume and with added pointing at the screen, when John K appeared in the studio - "that's John Kirkpatrick! there, look! playing a proper English concertina and everything!" I was sorry his appearance was so brief, although it was probably just as well for domestic harmony in the Radish household. My son's response was, "So, is that the apotheosis of your kind of music?" - said with the sarcasm and condescension that only a 13-year-old can muster. I don't care. (What does he know, he listens to Snow Patrol.)

I am not actually, when all's said and done, if you get right down to it, an enormous fan of John K personally. But still - there he was, a proper time-served folkie of high renown, singing with a concertina on Saturday teatime TV (TV Burp of all things). Good stuff.
