No complaints here about Utah...and I do know that stonescapes and desert scenery can be beautiful. But that said, I have yet to grok the beauty of Nevada.

How did you cross it, Bill? I crossed Nevada (from Wells on west, anyway) via Interstate 80 a couple of years ago when returning from The Great Montana Mini Road Trip of 2006, and I have to say it was really dreary, except for the eyesores -- oh sorry, those would be cities (Sorry, not a neon fan -- or a gambling fan, either). Perhaps 50 is less monotonous? But surely not much shorter...
