Thread Name: Peggy Gordon: where is Ingo?
Subject: RE: Peggy Gordon: where is Ingo?
I'm afraid I'll have to answer the 'Last Post' and I sincerely hope it is!
I did NOT say ingol is a fireplace, I said ingle is a fireplace:

Ingle in Scottish means a fireside or chimney corner. I have never heard it meaning a town. If you split the town name Ingleston in two, the ton part means town or farm and the Ingles part means English.

Please, end of story.
