As an occasional box player, I have to say that I can't abide some of the clumping English tunes like Winster Gallop or Dorset Four Hand Reel - but only because they were the ones with which I taught myself to play the box for a dance band, and I played them to death then and while busking down the Underground.
Now, for me, the Dorset 4HR will forever bring back a faint tang of urine and the accoustics of the South Kensington foot tunnel.
Similarly with songs; the ones I tend to avoid or dislike are usually those with a connotation rather than those that simply don't sound good.
But the Wild Rover fits every criterion for never being heard again in my book!
