I don't think it's bizarre at all. It is the way companies make more money: merge, merge, merge. Without getting "too" political, many of the anti-trust laws here in the US have been weakened to the extent that merging companies together creates more profits as they can reduec their operating costs by becoming bigger. Unfortunately, the consumer is the one that gets left out in the process as customer service becomes almost non-existent.
I was VERY disappointed in Micah Solomon's decision to go this route. I always had a lot of respect for him and the way he ran Oasis. I do have to admit, though, that CD Baby has continued (with a couple of very minor issues that have always been resolved immediately and appropriately) to be the company that that Derek began. I am really sorry that I cannot say the same for Oasis.
