When I was young (50's), there was a whole genra of flicks that we called "monster movies" Only one I see here is "It came from outer space", that was the one with the tree in the cave, and the mind sucking flying bat thingies? They covered just about every critter there was, atomic energy mutating every thing in it's path. Locusts "The beginning of the end", wasps,"Monsters from Green Hell", ants,"Them" mantae "The deadly Mantis" All were pretty bad, low budget things, but as a kid I ate 'em up.    then I saw the "The Thing" which scared the Bejesus otta me.
