The Foothills Hospital, Calgary, has installed dispensers, wherever corridors meet, to dispense a disinfectant lotion. Rub it over the hands, and it absorbs like a normal hand lotion. Visitors do not have to wear masks; as stated before fitted cloth and paper masks are not effective, and even then only for an hour or so. Filter masks work, but are cumbersome and expensive.
It saves water, and makes unnecesary visits to the washrooms everytime one touches something or someone that may be contaminated. There are two cases in Alberta and a few probable cases in Calgary, but they lack laboratory confirmation as yet. Calgary is a hub for international travel, no. 3 in volume in Canada. Canadian authorities say closing airposts offer little protection.
