Thread Name: 'Tolpuddle Man' Information
Subject: 'Tolpuddle Man' Information
The recent "Tolpuddle 2000" thread reminded me that, some while back, there was a discussion about who composed the Tolpuddle Man material. I've now found our tape of this (marked "Pre-release copy" and undated; bought from the band at a concert performance in Dorchester Corn Exchange a good while ago). The track listing shows:

A Tolpuddle Man: Moore Rigs of the Time: Trad. Captain Swing: Moore The Oath: Ryan/Moore The Road to Dorchester: Ryan/Moore Lament: Wright Uniting Together: Ryan/Moore God is Our Guide: Loveless (a reading, I think) Suffer the Children: Moore Farewell: Moore/Trad Waiting: Moore Gather and Stand: Ryan The Wrong Side of the World: Ryan/Moore The Labour's Cause: Ryan/Moore.

So as was suggested at the time, most of it seems to be "jointly created" by Graham Moore and Mick Ryan.

The whole work is credited to "Endangered Species", whose other members are listed as: Colin Thompson, Chris Robson, Sophie Wright, Tina Leeming, Chas Upton, John Prince, John Bond.

It also says the musical drama "Tolpuddle Man" was "developed in workshop by Endangered Species, and based on George Loveless' account of his experiences as 'leader' of the six Dorset farm labourer . . " However I believe not all of those listed as members of Endangered Species were actually involved in the workshop development of the show . .

Anyway, it's a fine work!
