Thread Name: Pete Seeger 90th Celebrations
Subject: RE: Pete Seeger 90th Celebrations
I read that "Independent" piece linked to above on May 2nd (but only 3 comments currently attached on the website, Kevin) ...

My 2cents worth :

It is a rare thing for a human being to not have some regret for a thought, a word, a deed, during their Life - esp. one lived as long as 90+ years.
Likewise, it's not often that one's opinions, ideals, philosophies, are EXACTLY the same in later life, as they were at 20 - or even 30 years of age.
But, that doesn't mean that their Past was Wrong - just "of its time" and the level of available knowledge.

So c'mon, you members of the "Still-Paranoid-About-Commies" Society :
"For Pete's Sake" - give us ALL a break!!
(.... and though you may not agree with Pete Seeger, it perhaps begs the question : just what did YOU do, to try and help The Planet and the lives of its People???)
