Like open mike, I'm not sure how appropriate or helpful this might be. Perhaps I am posting this more for the benefit of these many of us who are here holding vigil but not intimately involved.

I'm a psychotherapist, and the link which follows is from the professional literature regarding amiguous loss.   It is definitely dry and somewhat technical. It may be helpful to Meghan and family. And maybe not. If not, simply drop it into "file 13."

Ambiguous loss

I can only imagine, but do not know, what it must be like to not absolutely know what has happened when a loved one simply vanishes.
