I find Tanqueray too effete.

Take a jar of olives, pour into a larger jar (including the crud), and add Vermouth. Leave in fridge.

Gordons comes in a wholesome 1.75 liter plastic jug. Put it in the freezer till it flows like molasses. Pour out three-fourths of a tumbler. Add a soupspoon full of olives, which will now be soaked with Vermouth.

For maximum effect, sit in excessively hot sun while sipping.

Overall I prefer scotch - Talisker, Lagavulin, etc. But it costs 3 times as much.
