Even though I rarely play guitar I got a hint from a luthier friend. If you use soft flatpicks try cutting them out of plastic margarine or butter tubs. Make a hole in the centre of them so they don't slip out of your fingers as well. Or am I teaching granny the noble art of egg sucking?
