Thread Name: Lyr ADD: Land of the Silver Birch
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Land of the Silver Birch
My sister used to sing this song in the guides, and play it on her recorder. I can't tell what your tunes are, but it seemed slightly jerky with a weird timing. Anyway, this is all I can recall of it:
Land of the Silver Birch, Home of the Beaver, Where mighty yellow Moon Wanders at will; Blue lake and rocky shore, I will return once more.... I will return again.
Here in the lowlands My heart will sing to you Under the Heaven-sky Silent and blue; Home in the Northlands, Swift as the wild Goose, I will return to you.
Here, by the Forest, I'll set my wigwam, Under the silver Stars, Silent and still; Where mighty River flows, Where mighty Spirit knows...... I will return to you.
There are shades of Hiawatha in this song, don't you think?
