wow so many different versions... I heard somebody else sing it and thought it was beautiful... haunting, almost eerie... anyway, they sang it like so.

Who can sail where the wind won't blow?
Oars are needed for rowing

Part when your tears are flowing?

They didn't have a second verse or anything. I heard someone sing it in French the other day, too. That's what got me looking. they called it "Sans verses des larmes" or something like that.
