My understanding is that the "Kung-Fu" TV series was developed for Bruce Lee. But the network honchos decided that America wasn't ready for a TV series staring an oriental. So a few changes were made and Carradine ended up as the star.

And I'm glad that they made a movie about Woody Guthrie but it grated on my nerves that they allowed Carradine to play a Mossman guitar in the movie. It's a great guitar but they weren't used widely until well after Woody stopped performing. A little point but sometimes we guitar players are bothered by things like that.
