I don't put much stock in Versus and NBC commentators. We've seen the bias run the other way. I think that's natural-- esp. if we fans are the age of the players' parents, we want to protect "our boys" and we tend to see incursions against our own team while not even physically seeing what "our" boys do, absent a slow replay. The game's just too fast, inherently, to see it all, from the fans' view, and the commentators' view too-- which is why we have referees ON the ice WITH training AND seniority.

Backed up by the War Room, which watches it all and which is always looking for chances to apply additional discipline. But in the Final, even moreso than the preceding series, the refs are supposed to "let them play."

When a call is missed, under normal circumstances, officials get a "review" of the call for their own edification, and notice that they must enforce that rule in the next opportunity. They also get briefing before each game (all year) on what kind of crap individual players are mostly likely to pull. Coaches get briefed on what and how to warn their players. And then, yes, stuff DOES stil happen, but it's not quite the Dodge City out there that the paid-to-hype commentators seem to like to suggest.

Checks and balances. The losing team is almost always "robbed."
