When did Saffend become a unitary authority? Maybe that is why Leigh quit the camping. Maybe drunken festivalers kept tumbling into the water. What with Hadleigh up the road becoming Olympic cycling venue, I doubt that the camping will ever come back to Leigh.

Perhaps there will be an Olympic accommodation and transport hangover following the games that can be used for future Leigh Festivals.
