I'm thinking about making a tour of California and neighbouring States. It would start with a couple of days in Las Vegas and then be a case of pointing the car where it wanted to go, stopping in motels, before finishing up three weeks or so later flying out from Los Angeles. The Grand Canyon is a must see and I would probably spend a good deal more than five minutes there. San Francisco is high on the list but, other than that, not much else has been planned.

Any ideas of where to go and what to see during the month of August, particularly if it has a musical connection?
