So what. Water will seek its own level. They aren't hurting anybody. Some people like to disco dance. Some people like kareoke. Who does it hurt? If you have higher standards, don't frequent the places you don't like. And sometimes there are cliches for good reason..some people really are like the cliches. And regardless if people are making fools of themselves or not, it is still a demeaning, classist, derogatory ethnic term, whether it refers to Irish-Americans, or Irish-Australians or Japanese who happen to like Irish music, or whatever.
