This is a second-string bit part in LH's vivid interior dramatic dialogue; as can be seen, the characterization is thin, based only on faint impressions of the actual "plum" style of speech the character wishes he could master. Notice, too, how many of LH's own traits, such as a tendency toward middle-aged lechery, have been distributed amonghis "others" to be acted out at a safe distance.
