Thread Name: Lyr Req: Walking song
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walking song
It sounds like a rather literary translation from the Gaelic, and seems to have the right rhythm.

A waulking song is a work song, used to keep time when "twelve or fourteen women, divided into two equal numbers, sit down on each side of a long board" to shrink newly woven cloth by foot or by hand.
