I had not heard the details of this semi-cult before, but it doesn't surprise me at all. There are many, many on the religious far-right who assume...and like to 'explain' how being wealthy proves you have some sort of 'divine destiny' to be wealthy. Does the "divine right of kings" sound like it has modern adherents?
Every few months I get some sort of mail 'suggesting' that $$$$$ can be coaxed from God by 'proper' behavior..... usually including 'seeding' the metaphysical system with your own money... ☺

The whole bit takes so many forms.....but seeing that list of members of "The Family" sure clarifies some of the recent news....
