Well... the drug companies invest a lot in R&D and therefore should reap the benefits of thier expenditures, no?

No.

We can do whatever they can do and we can do it without getting rich at the expense of those who cannot afford to make them rich while suffering. The arguement seems to be that humans are only driven to "do" by profit, and that if there is no financial reward to develope a "cure", there will be no cure. That is pretty fucked up.

If they are gonna use that arguement to deny people FREE health care, it's a good thing they are rich.... for them.
