I seem to remember a similar idea in the TV series "Citizen Smith". When Citizen Smith, the leader of the Tooting Popular Front, found he had been invited to a grimble party (one at which each real guest is supposed to bring the ugliest or stupidest guest, and at some point in the evening the "winner" is the person who brought the worst guest), to quote "a naughty urban guerilla put laxative in the punch"
