Mbo - thank you for mentioning 'The Rose'. That's what first came to my mind. Well I don't know most of the other songs mentioned, but still...

Is 'The Rose' too simple for english speaking people? Does it sound too sweetish to them? Did they simply hear it too often? Please mind that these are real questions I don't know the answer, I am not trying to provoke anybody. There is a german version and Joan Baez once did it. But as most translations of songs it suffered and it does sound sweetish in german (bad thing for every good song). In english it seems ok to me AND I LOVE THAT SONG. In english.

Or are Matt and I simply too young?
