There were some brief and rather striking scenes of Dunkirk in the recent movie "Atonement", though it's mostly a tragic love story. It's a good film, and you would probably enjoy seeing the bits in Dunkirk as well as the rest of it.

The two main characters are played by Keira Knightley and James McAvoy.
