Interesting discussion. If I'm going to hear a folk concert I don't check to see whether the musician is a Democrat or a Republican, or what their stance is on gay marriage. It's not that those issues aren't important. I'm just not likely to let political affiliation determine whether or not I enjoy a folk musician. I'm not even all that interested in knowing what it is.
