OK I agree Streets of London was in fact recorded in 1968 and was included on Spiral Staircase (1969) but it did not come to popular attention until 1974 when it became a hit single. If you can honestly say that this was one of your favourite songs from the sixties, fair enough. I will say it is one of my memorable songs from the seventies - that's when it was popular and that's when I first learnt the song/chords from my then girlfriend. I still however maintain that Steeleye span were predominitely a seventies band - that was their heyday here is a list of their Albums and as you can see from the Singles Gaudete was released in 1972, so how can that make somebody's list of favourite sixties songs? I know this thread is only a bit of fun and I am nit picking - but that's the joy of mudcat!
