Now look here, Amos...I compose in English something that I think is amusing. That's the creative part, mon petit gateau. THAT is the part I excercise my mind upon. Then I simply get it translated into French by a robotic machine...yes...but merely because I think it sounds more pretentious and amusing to put it in French. And I learned that trick from you...it's a trick you've been using for years here. I am simply returning the favour, mon ami.

Just because I will never equal you in the art of sheer pomposity, mon vieux, is no reason to go casting these unpleasant aspersions on my supposed lack of creative ability. ;-)

If I were to use a foreign language I actually do know, I would use Spanish. However, I prefer to use French when talking to you, because it sounds more supercilious, more pompous, and much more snooty than Spanish does. I prefer to serve you a meal you are already accustomed to. French, I feel, is the ultimate language to use when looking snidely down one's nose at a pitiably inferior wretch whom one has deigned to offer a brief bit of one's own incisive repartee...much as a king deigns to throw a crust of bread to the poor.
