Revenge, karmically speaking, is one of the stupidest and most self-defeating things a person can possibly engage in.

It does make for entertaining movies, though! ;-) There's a whole industry out there for servicing people's exaggerated revenge fantasies, and it remains hugely popular. I enjoy such movies too, but I don't for a moment take seriously the notion that what they are presenting is a good idea in real life.
