When a teenager, I'd always intentionally refer to myself as English and not British, for it's positive language and cultural associations, and thoroughly eschew 'British' identity for the all the negative imperial association bollox. The NF were more than welcome to the Union Flag and all it represented to me, it suited them and their arrogant brain-dead bullshit. But now they've grabbed the St. George Cross too.
