I always wear socks with my sandals when I'm here in Canada, Amos, and I have three very good reasons for doing so.

1. The soles of your feet don't stick to the sandals when you wear socks. It's therefore much more comfortable with socks.

2. You avoid getting sunburned feet by wearing socks.

3. Your feet stay warmer with socks on. This is not important when it's hot outside, but it can be of considerable help in cooler weather that is still feasible as "sandal weather"...that is, in early spring or autumn, for instance or on a cool night.

Now, when I'm in a place like Cuba or Trinidad...then I don't wear socks with my sandals much, because it's hot enough in those countries that it wouldn't really make sense to.
