I guess the old way of grinding your own was best. It was stated in the article that Costco does its own grinding and testing and tht works quite well---unlike what happens with the frozen things in the supermarkets which come from many sources (animals, fillers, etc;)

I have a question--hope some one knows the answer.   Pork. Does ground pork have the same issues? Forget Kashruth---it is healthier than beef in many respects and, I hope, is free from such risks.
