Could a forty verse limit be declared? Is that heretical?

This is Murka, home of fast food and the 30-second commercial. I think we should have a rule--if you can't tell the story in ten verses, trim it down!! (Actually I think it is an interesting cultural difference between the ancient oral tradition and the post-industrial sound-bite mindset.) In any case I think some boundary is in order.
