Crow Sister, there is now a fairly visible group of so-called "conservative Christians" that are set on "re-translating" the Bible to rid it of all those pesky liberal-sounding passages (e.g., the sermon on the mount and that stuff about going the extra mile or feeding the hungry and clothing the naked).   That story about Jesus stopping the stoning of the woman "taken in adultery" by saying "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone?" Gone. The true Jesus wouldn't have said that or "Judge not lest ye be judged." In fact, he didn't consider women equal to men, either, so anywhere the Bible refers to "people" or "person" or "parent" it will be changed to "men" or "man" or "father." (Never mind if the original Aramaic or Greek or Hebrew word meant "human" rather than just "male human.")    Their aim is to replace such "socialist-sounding" versions as The King James version with this new "Politically Correct" Conservative "translation."

Won't that be wonderful?

They'll probably quote Psalm 137: 8-9 a lot.
